Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets
P.R.O.M.P.T. was developed by Deborah Hayden. It is a hands-on, non-invasive manipulation of the oral structures which gently guides a child's mouth to assist with speech production.
P.R.O.M.P.T. is embedded within naturalistic situations which encompass all of the language, social, cognitive, and physical needs of the child. This system takes traditional speech therapy to the next level by giving tactile cues to the oral mechanism. The child is performing an action while hearing the auditory information, and at the same time the oral musculature is guided for production of the target word.
